Burgers in Rock Hill run along Cherry Road, from Burgers and Barley near Winthrop University out to Steak ‘n Shake, and through the shopping areas on Herlong Avenue, Meeting Boulevard and Cross Pointe Drive off Dave Lyle Boulevard. Nash & Smashed is in Newport, inside the Old York Road Walmart.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Rock Hill, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 12, 2026. We added Burgers and Barley, Cook Out, a second Five Guys, Freddy’s, Nash & Smashed, Steak ‘n Shake and Whataburger from the state’s SC Food Grades inspection database and their own sites; where a chain page would not load, a 2026 inspection record confirms the restaurant. We left off the McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, Hardee’s, Jack in the Box and Sonic drive-throughs, and places whose own sites we could not find to confirm a burger menu. The list is alphabetical. Burgers and Barley is on Cherry Road near Winthrop. It has a heated patio, which it books for holiday parties, and it also takes private party bookings through its site.

Cook Out on Automall Parkway did not show a store page for us, so we confirmed it through an Oct. 8, 2026, state inspection record. Its site lists burgers, barbecue, hot dogs and shakes.

Five Guys has two Rock Hill restaurants, on Herlong Avenue and on Meeting Boulevard off Dave Lyle Boulevard. Both store pages list in-store dining, curbside pickup and delivery; their weekly hours did not load for us.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers on Harwich Street posts carryout hours to 10 p.m. most nights and 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Its menu pairs steakburgers with frozen custard.

Nash & Smashed is an express counter inside the Walmart Supercenter on Old York Road in Newport. The chain says its whole menu is halal, with hand-smashed burgers and hand-breaded chicken. Its store page says hours are not listed yet, so call the store.

Steak ‘n Shake on Cherry Road did not show a store page for us; a June 3, 2026, state inspection record confirms it.

Whataburger on Cross Pointe Drive has a dining area and a drive-thru that its page lists as open 24 hours. Its menu runs from burgers and chicken sandwiches to biscuits and pancakes.
