Rock Hill Halloween 2026: free Fright Night movies Fridays at McGirt Auditorium, Firelight Fright Oct. 24, the Spooktacular Oct. 31 and Trunks or Treats Nov. 1.
Last checked Oct. 12, 2026. This page is updated each year at the same address. Dates come from Visit Rock Hill’s fall events page, the Fright Night page, the Halloween Spooktacular page and the city’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism calendar.
Halloween is Saturday, Oct. 31. Rock Hill’s own Halloween season is almost entirely free: a scary movie every Friday night at McGirt Auditorium, a storytelling night at Fewell Park, the Spooktacular on Main Street and a trunk-or-treat the day after. The city’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism department and the Old Town Association run most of it.
Looking for trick-or-treat times, curfew and candy safety? They are on our separate trick-or-treat hours page. Corn mazes and pumpkin patches are on our fall festivals page.

Fright Nights at McGirt Auditorium
Every Friday in October and on Halloween night, the city shows a different scary movie at 7:30 p.m. at McGirt Auditorium, 825 Crawford Road. The movies are PG-13 and free, with free popcorn and Kona Ice, according to Visit Rock Hill. Two of this year’s six have already played; the remaining four are “The Mummy” on Oct. 16, “Five Nights at Freddy’s” on Oct. 23, “The Addams Family” on Oct. 30 and “The Woman in Black” on Oct. 31.
The Spooktacular’s volunteer “scarers” hold their tryouts before Fright Nights at the auditorium, the Spooktacular page says.
Firelight Fright Storytelling
The York County Library joins Rock Hill Parks, Recreation and Tourism for spooky stories on the lawn at Fewell Park Recreation Center, 1204 Alexander Road, from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. It is free. Bring a chair or blanket; food trucks sell food.
Halloween day in Old Town
The big day starts with BOO HaHa, daytime trick-or-treating at Fountain Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and rolls straight into the Halloween Spooktacular on Main Street from 1 to 7 p.m.: inflatables, rides, live music and train rides, with free admission. Organizers say activities can change. If your child does not want to be scared, ask for a wristband at the information tent. Main Street details, parking and the full trick-or-treat picture are on our trick-or-treat hours page.
The day after: Trunks or Treats
The city’s trunk-or-treat is 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at Boyd Hill Recreation Center, 1165 Constitution Blvd. Groups, families and businesses can still sign up to decorate a trunk or a table and hand out candy through the volunteer sign-up.
Already past this year
Oktoberfest on Main Street was Oct. 3, and the last Movies in the Park of 2026, “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” was Oct. 9 at Fountain Park. Fright Nights on Oct. 2 and 9 showed “Lights Out” and “A Quiet Place.”
Haunted attractions
We could not find a haunted house operating inside Rock Hill this year. Carowinds, on the state line about 15 miles north, runs its adults-oriented SCarowinds haunt on select nights; check its own page for dates and age guidance before you go.
